It’s Week 6 in One Room Challenge and today is the big REVEAL DAY of my Coastal Living Room Refresh!
If you’re just joining the fun, One Room Challenge (ORC), is a 6 week design challenge hosted by Linda from Calling It Home. You can get caught up from the beginning here:
Charlotte Lately did an amazing job capturing our living room refresh with such style! We live in a ranch style home that has a great open floor plan. When you step into our front entryway you can see our living room and into my glam office, which I finished last ORC. I added a new light pendant in the front entry, which has huge impact as you’re greeted in our home by as you step into our living room.
The above photo is the overall view of our living room from my glam office, which gives you a window into my event design world! You can also see fun new home décor accessories like Modern Mix by Eddie Ross, Monet by Daniel Wildenstein, and A Colorful Home by Susan Hable styled with a gold antlers. Monet is my favorite artist, and I’ve admired Eddie Ross for some time and had the pleasure of meeting him and Susan at the Southern C Summit last April in Charleston!
You’ll often hear me talk about the Thrill of The Hunt when finding great pieces at yard sales! The blue and white tea pot on the accent table, the white vase and basin on the console table in the front entry, and this arm chair that I had re-upholstered in navy blue and white knots and white linen on the back were all 25 cent finds! You will also find that elephants through out our home, and I have three in this room from the garden stool, to the lamp, to the multicolored figurine. You can get more of my fab finds while thrifting here.
If you’ve been following me since Week 1 then you know most of the large furniture pieces are the same. We were looking to refresh this living room space by making it more custom. We switch the Greek key sofa and the two arm chairs, which added more space for the new gold bar cart. On the sofa we added navy custom and untamed coral lumbar custom pillows from New South Home and navy herringbone monogramed throw from Tiny Prints to finish the look.
The biggest transformation is how beautiful this custom upholstered chair turned out from The Upholstery Guy! Navy Knots fabric was added to the front and white linen to the back with nail head trim all the way around the bottom. Custom pillows were added to both arm chairs to finish the look. You can also spy some of my other treasures I found while thrifting on the bottom of the accent table. The small wood table in the corner was built by my grandfather and houses some of our wine and martini glasses, collection of wine corks in a bowl I’ve made, and another treasure while thrifting. I’ve styled it with Kate Spade vase filled with cherry blossoms. You can also see my love of art and impressionism with the print signed by the late Max Agostini.
By far my favorite major purchases after the custom pillows and arm chair is this beautiful two tier vintage gold bar cart and sea shell prints! In Week 2 I shared my inspiration board and need to find a coastal console table to fit this space. I’ve always wanted a bar cart in my living room and couldn’t be more happier that the console I had wanted for the space didn’t fit. I simply added some of my favorite books, found the gold faux bamboo tray, gold glasses, and tortious shell figure to style it. The gold vase I had just bought for my Friendsgiving styled shoot and did a quick floral design to finish the look.
